GroupM names David Fish as chief client and business partner

GroupM, WPP’s media investment arm, has appointed David Fish to the newly-created role of chief client and business partner.

Reporting to GroupM Australia and New Zealand CEO Mark Lollback, Fish will work with the group’s agencies including MediaCom and Mindshare to develop the client teams and integrate new clients into the business.

“David was instrumental in setting up Media Lab for Westpac and we’re proud of the work he’s done there to inspire excellence in client leadership,” said Lollback.

“David’s background is in running agencies, building teams and reshaping agency relationships. We’re lucky to welcome him into a group role where his experience and expertise will help supercharge outcomes across our agencies and client teams.”

On creating the new role, Lollback said that it made sense to respond to clients’ challenges, which are “greater than they have ever been”.

“There’s a need for continuous reflection on how we work together to deliver even more effective relationships and outcomes. With this new senior consultant role, GroupM is leading the way and investing in the collective future for our business and our clients,” he said.

Fish is currently managing director of Media Lab and GroupM is undertaking a search for his replacement.

“对我来说,这个新角色是看待事物more collaboratively with our clients, delivering them best in class outcomes and having a bigger picture perspective,” Fish said of his appointment.

“It has been immensely satisfying to establish Media Lab in Australia and partner with our Westpac client to create this new way of working. I will continue to support [Media Lab] in the development of this model while looking forward to the opportunity to take on new and different challenges with GroupM.”
