斯坦signs Amazon Prime shows, announces pricing and kicks off pre-launch campaign
Streaming service Stan has signed up two Amazon Prime original shows Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle, and announced its pricing as the joint venture between Nine Entertainment Co and Fairfax Media readies to go live.
As anticipated the service will be available to subscribers for $10 per month, with a 30-day free trial also available, with Stan also kicking off its pre-launch campaign on TV and in print.
Competitors Presto and Quickflix are already priced similarly while Netflix, set to launch in Australia by March, has a three tiered pricing strategy with options starting at $US7.99, $US8.99 and $US11.99. Netflix also offers a 30-day free trial.
No details of any potential bundling options with Fairfax Media newspapers have been announced.
News that Amazon has licensed content from two shows to the platform may also be seen as an indication that the US giant has no imminent intentions to make a move into the local market.
The pre-launch campaign focuses on the platform’s content library with a voiceover repeating ‘This is Stan’ and ‘This is what we’ve been waiting for’. While Australian comedienneRebel Wilson is signed on as the brand ambassadorshe does not make an appearance in the teaser campaign. AJF Partnership is the brand’s creative agency of record.
The pricing news follows the streaming platform announcing several licensing agreements at the end of last year as it sought to build its content library. In December Stan signed content deals withViacom International Media Networks,CBS StudiosandBBC Worldwideand a deal with MGM which saw the platform secure thestreaming rights to Fargoand adeal with SBS which sees its World Movies content available on the platform.
斯坦also announced with its pricing news the platform’s content library will host the complete collection of Bond films including Skyfall.
It follows on from speculation thatNetflix is experimenting with ways to block users accessing the platform in the US using a geo-blocker or VPN.
