Djokovic demolition helps Nine to Wednesday win
Nine’s Australian Open coverage returned to the top of Wednesday’s programming, with the first night session airing to 475,000 viewers.
It was followed by the second night session, with 458,000 metro viewers, just pipping Seven’s The Chase with 435,000 viewers and Home and Away on 434,000.
Day 11’s night session will see two quarter-final match-ups in the Women’s draw, with two-time winner, Victoria Azarenka facing off against last year’s Wimbledon champion, Elena Rybakina, while Magda Linette plays fifth seed, Aryna Sabalenka.
The ABC’s coverage of the Australian of the Year presentation captured an audience of 282,000, edging out Ten’s The Bachelors on 280,000 and Seven’s Big Bash coverage featuring the Melbourne Stars and the Sydney Thunder.
However, the #1 program on Wednesday was Seven News which aired to 837,000 metro viewers, while Seven News at 6.30 had 817,000 metro viewers. Nine News drew in 624,000 metro viewers and Nine News at 6:30 brought in 623,000.
The Australian Open night session two sweeped the key demo of 16-39s, 18-49s, and 25-54s.
Nine Network once again claimed an overall win with a 33.4% share, followed by Seven with 28.8%, Ten with 15.6%, ABC with 15% and SBS with 7.3%.
