Brisbane radio ratings: Hit Network and Nova swap places again
SCA’s B105 (Hit Network) has turned around its losses in Brisbane in the second GfK metro radio ratings survey of 2023, clawing its way back for a win in breakfast and overall share.
The network managed to gain back the lead it lost to Nova in the first survey of the year, which ran from 5 February to 25 February, and 26 February until 1 April. B105 reclaimed one percentage point on the last book for a 12.7% share overall, ahead of Nova’s 12%.
The market was otherwise relatively stable across the board, with ARN’s KIIS holding onto a third place finish with 10.6% share, and SCA’s Triple M in fourth position on 9.5%.

In breakfast, and B105’s Stav, Abby and Matt is back on top after losing the spot to Nova’s Ash, Luttsy and Susie O’Neill in the first survey of the year. Stav, Abby and Matt reclaimed share lost in the last survey, plus a bit more, with a 1.6 point increase to 14.1%, as Ash, Luttsy and Susie O’Neill fell 0.3 points to 12.9%.
KIIS’s Robin, Terry & Kip held comfortably onto third place, with 10.5% share, followed by Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan on 9.2% share, and 4BC Breakfast with 9% share.
After a tough survey year in 2022, ABC Brisbane fell further again, landing itself in sixth place after a 0.8 point loss in the breakfast slot. 4BH’s Bob Gallagher also suffered a 1.4 point drop on the last survey, for a 6.6% share.
In Drive, there were a number of significant losses across timeslot leaders, as Nine stations saw a substantial uptick in share, though not enough to dethrone any of the top five.
Nova’s refreshed drive lineup of Ricki-Lee, Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey held onto a strong lead, despite a loss of 0.9 points, down to a 15.1% share. The loss adds to the 1.2 points the network shed in the first survey of the year.
B105’s Carrie and Tommy faired well, making a small gain of 0.5 points for a second place finish on 12% for the time slot. KIIS’ Will and Woody remained in third place also despite a loss of 0.8 points to land with 10.5% share.
Triple M’s The Rush Hour With Leisel Jones, Liam & Dobbo also saw losses, dropping 1.4 points to 9.2, while Triple J held onto fifth place with 8%, up 0.6 points.
As mentioned, 4BC’s Brisbane Live leapt up 1.9 points for 7.7% share, and 4BH’s Cathy Jubb saw a 1.4 point uptick on the last survey, for a share of 5.7% for drive.
