Bondi Beach and Sydney Opera House top Instagram’s most tagged Aussie landmarks for 2018
Sydney topped Instagram’s list of most tagged locations in 2018 with Bondi Beach, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour being the three most popular spots on the social media platform this year.
Melbourne however proved to be the second most popular hashtag, beaten by #love, while Australia’s top personal Instagram account were all movie and TV stars.
Actor Chris Hemsworth 22.9 million followers saw him top the list of Australians on Instagram. His birthday post in August attracted over 3.5m likes to be the most nation’s popular post for the year.

Nationally, the four of the five most tagged Australian locations were in Sydney, with Melbourne’s National Gallery:

The top locations in each state saw a heavy focus on art galleries, with the top locations in Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT being cultural icons.
